Biography
Olaf Viggo Peter Langer was a painter and draftsman, born in Bavaria on December 11, 1860, to Danish parents. He studied in Copenhagen. He exhibited between 1881 and 1884 under the name of Hansen, his father’s name, but adopted his mother’s maiden name of Langer from 1885. He is noted for a series of landscapes depicting the area near his home in Lellinge and for his illustrations for periodicals. Langer died on November 10, 1942 in Rungsted in Denmark.
