Biography
Vorobiev was the son of Maksim Nikiforovich Vorobiev (1787-1855), a prolific landscape painter, and studied under his father at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg from 1833. He worked in Italy from 1840 to 1846 and in 1847 to 1849. His work includes views of Naples. In 1872 Vorobiev became a professor at the Academy. He subsequently abandoned teaching, but amongst the students he taught and influenced were Ivan Shishkin, Dyuker, Klever, and Meshchersky.

Vorobiev is represented in the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, and the State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, among other collections.
